Yesterday's News

Since the Hudson Dog Park opened last October, I've been taking Joey to the dog park for his exercise outings instead of walking him in the cemetery. That's why I didn't discover this loss until today, when I decided Joey and I both needed a change, and we headed up to the cemetery for a long, ambling morning walk. The ancient tree, now lying across Cemetery Road in the Hudson City Cemetery, was no doubt a casualty of Thursday evening's wind and rain storm.

The tree lost is the biggest tree that appears in this Google map of the cemetery, to the left of center along Cemetery Road.

  1. If a tree falls in a cemetery, does it make a sound? Compost in peace...

  2. Sadly a handful of gravestones were broken as a result of the wind damage. That area of the cemetery has been hit hard in recent years.
