To the Superintendent:
ReplyDeleteSelf-promotional campaigns are nothing new, but to use pizza and you actually delivering was brilliant. I see you even notified the TV stations and put a video on youtube, in which you mentioned that your daughter is married to "a person of color."
First of all, good deeds are not good deeds if you want to put your face forward as the cause.
Secondly, just because you KNOW a person of color, in no way means you have their experiences living in that skin. Especially when you were, in part, responsible for cutting the most diverse educational program in the district.
The program that was funded $400,000 from the state to exist in the first place. Did you cut it because it had a higher graduation rate, even though all the Regents exams that the ALP kids had to take were taken and graded by high school, teachers? Or was it because the upper preferred students might lose a college credit course?
In the mean time, the ALP kids were thrown back into the streets and 95% became drop outs. Which in the end, the BOE and yourself used as justification for making the cuts.
That performance was all about one person, and it wasn't the students. It was all about the person talking to the camera.
