How the Drama Ended

Yesterday, a young black bear spent most of the day in the big weeping willow tree behind 32 Warren Street. I was curious to know how the drama of the bear in the tree ended, so this morning I asked the man whose tree had hosted the bear what happened.

Last night, when it was fully dark and all the folks who had gathered to stare at the bear had departed, leaving only a police officer to monitor the bear's movements, the bear climbed down out of the tree, exited the fenced yard through a gate on First Street, and then ambled away along Prison Alley, headed east. Where he went next is not known.
