It's Only Money

While members of the Common Council, at the Finance Committee meeting and again at the regular monthly meeting, agonized about the police budget, which all told is $4.5 million, the Hudson City School District was counting the ballots for the vote on its $50.7 million 2020-2021 budget. It was reported that they received 2,298 absentee ballots. Here are the results:
  • $50.7 million 2020-2021 budget:  1,297 yes; 748 no
  • Creating a capital reserve fund:  1,338 yes; 676 no
Sage Carter and Carrie Otty, the two incumbent board members running unopposed, received 1,574 and 1,623 votes respectively.
