In March, Gossips reported that the alternative learning program known as Warren Street Academy, located at 11 Warren Street, would cease to exist on June 30, 2020: "The End of an Experiment." The school opened, with much fanfare, in 2016. The image below is a screen capture from Dan Udell's video of the ribbon cutting ceremony, which took place on July 3, 2016.
Today, five days before the dissolution of the school, the Register-Star reports that a teacher at Warren Street Academy, who apparently lives in Latham, was arrested and charged with multiple felonies involving child pornography: "Hudson teacher charged in child porn case."

The goal of the Bridge and Warren Street Academy" were and are the same, to make money. The program charged over $15,000 for each student. The focus was never about caring for students....it was about charging for students! The favorite pass time of the program was to show movies which even the kids got bored with. The methods used to control students was at time to slam them to the ground and get on top of them or even throw them through a wall.
ReplyDeleteThis was all done with no questions asked and was understood to be the approved system brought from the Berkshire Farm schools.
Bruce Potter sold this program on past success in the Berkshire system, which was a total fabrication.
The staff didn't understand how to build trust and relationships with students. Without that, you have nothing.
And since when is it an acceptable educational practice to submit students to an"experimental" program. This was doomed before it even started, and Berkshire Farm never understood why!
