This morning, Alderman Tiffany Garriga (Second Ward) sent the following text to her colleagues on the Common Council. (She also sent it to Gossips.)
Council president Tom DePietro responded. (A text Garriga also shared with Gossips.)
Garriga posted both texts on her Facebook page, which prompted a lively discussion and inspired enthusiasm for the suggestion that Common Council meetings, starting with the Police Committee meeting tonight at 6 p.m., should be held in riverfront park. Quintin Cross opined that "DPW could arrange the chairs and tables and all that in a matter of minutes." Linda Mussmann suggested that people could bring their own chairs and called on Randall Martin for help with the sound equipment.
So far, there has been no official word that the Police Committee meeting will take place in riverfront park. The information to access the Zoom meeting, however, has been published on the City of Hudson website. Click here to access the meeting. The meeting ID is 871 6565 7486; the password is 670310.

Kudos to the Common Council for its effort to include residents. (Earlier I thanked the Planning Board too.)
ReplyDeleteI suspect there's a pattern among the agencies that are most comfortable concealing their activities from the public. But what, or who, is it?
Thank you, Tiffany Garriga. There are probably plenty of indoor venues that could accomodate social distancing (JLE, High School, MC Smith, Opera House etc.) without all the logistical hurdles. As unheimlich says, it's a welcome "effort to include residents."
